The “race to the clouds”
The start is given at 2,865 meters altitude and finishes at the summit of the highest peak in Colorado, 4,301 meters!
At 19.93km in length, the event is composed of 156 corners with switchbacks and impressive drop-offs.
The second oldest race in the United States after the Indy 500. The first race on Pikes Peak, known as the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, took place in 1916.
Nicknamed the “race to the clouds,” the race will be celebrating its 92nd edition in 2014.
Second in 2012 driving a Porsche 911 GT3 R, Romain Dumas will be at the wheel of a Norma M20 “RD Limited.” The team began development work on the prototype with one objective: battle for outright victory.
