Another pole for Romain Dumas
at Mosport
It
was Romain’s turn, in place of Timo Bernhard, to take part in qualifying, as
spectacular as always and he set pole position time. His second consecutive
pole! His time of 1:05.919 was good enough to put the Penske Motorsport Porsche
RS Spyder No 7 on the front row. This time also beat his own lap record from
the previous year of 1:07.221.
“I hoped we could be fastest overall today but in the last sector of my flying lap, the tyres weren’t as good as on the previous lap” Romain explained. “But all in all, I’m quite happy. In practice our car appears to be equally fast whatever the conditions and that will be essential for the race”. Their 17 point lead in the championship is beginning to look critical.
