And now it’s two… another overall
win in Houston.
A
second consecutive overall win for Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard.
Just
as last week, the team behind the No 7 Penske Motorsport Porsche RS Spyder excelled
in their refuelling and driver-change stops. At the start Romain was able to
get to the head of the field and pull out a lead over the pursuers, and Timo
then maintained this lead, despite repeated efforts by their opponents.
This
weekend, Roger Penske’s men achieved a formidable success which means that Romain
and Timo have increased their lead in the points table.
Romain: “Last
year we led this race but we had a mechanical problem. We hoped it would be
different this year. Timo wasn’t sure at the start, but now I think he likes
this race! It was great fun and we had a truly great race. Before the start,
we knew the car was quick, but we were thinking more of the LMP2 championship
than an overall win”.
