Romain Dumas begins 2007 season
2007,
January 9th - Come
back on the Test Days of Daytona. These 8 test sessions gave opportunity to
all the teams and drivers to find their feet with this particular raceway of
Daytona. Next test sessions are scheduled just before the race, at the end of
the month.
These three days were not enough to fix all the issues and there
is still a lot of work to do on the #23 Alex Job Racing car. The best
setup to get a good use of the tyres hasn’t been found. Some issues with brakes,
gearbox shift and radiator didn’t allow the Crawford Porsche AJR drivers
to complete these tests as well as they wished.
As
soon as he ended his job in Daytona, Romain went to Sebring in order to complete
a 3-days private test session with the Penske team. A lot of tests are scheduled
from
January 10 th to 12th. Although Romain already knows the news Porsche Rs Spyder
(he drove it a lot of times), he will want to feed back all the data throughout
this session. Indeed nothing can replace a real test on the track. A good result
at the Sebring 12H would be the best
starting point to begin the ’07 American Le Mans Series championship. The information
that will be obtained during these three days will be surely paramount for the
suite of the season. The Penske team will be still at work with his two cars
during the Winter Test from january 22nd to 24th. The names of the Porsche
workdrivers who will drive there are still not known. These ALMS tests will be
followed by the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona (January 25 – 27)
