Another pole for Romain Dumas
6 october 2007
For
Romain Dumas, it was the last time this season that he would be driving in the
qualifying session, something he likes and something which he does well. And
once again his performance was very satisfying, with second place in the overall
results but most importantly, first in the LMP2 class. It marked his fourth
pole in a row and his fifth out of the six times he had been charged with the
duty of qualifying the car this season. His time of 1’09.309” put the No 7 Porsche
RS Spyder to start from the front row, sandwiched by the two Audi R10’s.
It was a great performance which added to the lap record that Romain set on
Friday morning during first practice in a time of 1’08.720”.
On Saturday,
at the wheel of the Penske Porsche, Romain will try to capture the LMP2 class
title in the American Le Mans Series championship.
